GETTING THERE!!

 Me and my roommates- first night in the Jerusalem Center...

Mom, I will write you quick because I know that you will run around screaming when you see how quickly I have written you:) Wow all I can say is WOW!! I can't believe I am here. So I guess I will start with the flight... we all met each other and it was a little wierd but everyone is so fun! My suitcase carry on gave me a few problems but with my huge muscles I was able to cram it in the space. Time flew by so fast and before I knew it I was in New York! While on the flight I sat by a frazzled mother and helped her with her 9 year old the whole flight. We had a layover and I walked around JFK for a bit. We boarded and once again my Carry on! It felt like the lift tower in dad's ski poem... always causing a problem! Me and this kid Eric watched Harry Potter 6 (I think) it is the new one. It was my first time seeing it so that was fun. I took a sleeping pill and literally passed out the rest of the flight. Woke up...landed...got on a bus and arrived in the most BEAUTIFUL building I have ever seen! ( well its up there) We lucky 20 Delta students only had one stop however, the other flyers had 4 planes and they all were delayed... not to mention they had to wake up at 3 am :) We have just been meeting our  professors and we ate.  I have made some great friends so far, my room mates are amazing and... one even brought a stuffed animal like me:) Laurence will have a girlfriend haha. I guess this is all. I hope all is well. Sophie I love you and miss you. Be good and nice. Give Bette a kiss from me.

So much love your way Dad! Really I have only been here a few days and it is amazing! I have a really fun group of girls I hang out with but no worries I always try to get to know the other people too! We are going into the old city today together. Everyone thinks I am cool because I am planning out our days and where to go and what to do. All the girls are really grateful for that. I totally see  you coming up in me with situations like this and love it! I am so excited for my classes. We had a 4 hour block of Old Testament then Ancient Near Eastern Studies. The first class flew by. I am really excited for it... the second one... not so much flying but it is very interesting. Dad I love it here! I woke up at 6 and went running. The sun was rising and it was simply breath taking. The food here is really yummy but tell mom to not worry I dont plan on gaining any weight here ... Well I sure love you and Ill call you probably before I leave for Egypt. thank you thank you thank you!        Katie
